Semester 1 2020 Graduation

Due to COVID-19, students were unable to attend a physical ANU graduation to celebrate this milestone achievement in their lives. In lieu of a physical graduation ceremony, I was tasked with creating a graduation video that featured ANU staff and graduating students.

In this project, I worked closely with the ANU Graduation Office, the ANU Public Affairs Team and executive staff including the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor.

I drew from my strong connections within ANU to source video content from staff in a timely manner. I then edited the video and added subtitles to ensure its accessibility, and managed to get approvals from the executive within two business days. Feedback from the executive included:

  • It’s lovely – got a bit teary watching it! Well done to everyone involved in making such a warm and joyous video, and managing to sneak a cat into it!

  • It looks fantastic. I love all the comments from the students and the staff saying congratulations.

  • Sallie has produced this video single handily and liaised with various offices and teams both inside and out of the division. In what is a first for the ANU to not hold an in-person graduation ceremony, Sallie can be proud to know that her hard work and dedication to this project will forever be remembered by the graduating class of 2020 and the University. From start to finish Sallie has been passionate about creating the best possible virtual congratulations, and I think you will agree once viewing the video, that she has done that without question.

The below-linked video has been shared to all graduating students at ANU.
